On this page are some miscellaneous paintings, prints, etc., that the Ugly Otter (and his Beautiful Wife) find from time-to-time.  Some of these are original oil (or acrylic), some are gleece on canvas, some are prints.  We will try to specify in each description which is which.

A few are acrylic paint on native sandstone, painted by a Zuni Sheepherder while tending his flock.  These original one-of-a-kind paintings are by the famous "A. Cellicion".  They represent religious ceremonies performed by the Zuni Indians.  It is said that he paints these while tending a flock of sheep way out in the wilds. We are lucky to find his paintings, as only a very few are made each year. We buy all that we can find, and on our last buying trip, he had just brought in several and bought them all!

Other prints on this page represent Hopi religious ceremonies and legends, and handwritten stories accompany the prints.  On one print, the story is lost - sorry about that.  This collection was obtained from a large collector's estate sale in Tucson, and we have no history on these.  They are all framed and matted.

Balakai Mesa
"Wild Horses at Balakai Mesa", in Apache County, Arizona,  where they still run wild!
42" X 21"  Giclee printed on canvas.  The Giclée process enables an expert to print directly onto museum-quality canvas material.  In giclee printing, no screen or other mechanical devices are used and therefore there is no visible dot screen pattern. The image has all the tonalities and hues of the original painting.  This painting is by self-taught Navajo, Randlett "Randy" Keedah, Sr., of Tucson, AZ.  This painting comes with a nice wood frame, and sells for
$450.
It would make a nice addition to any "Southwestern" room.  (Ugly Otter's note:  The actual item is much sharper in detail than my camera will show).  It is item #92B-1314
